About Dr. Karen Jones
Karen grew up in South Carolina where she earned her undergraduate degree at Wofford College. As a biology major, she was on the traditional medical school path when she decided to spend her junior year abroad in Australia. While continuing her studies in Australia, she became more interested in how natural medicine can work with the body to create health rather than just treating disease. It was when she returned to the United States that she learned about Naturopathic Medicine. She found it to be the perfect blend of natural and conventional medicine. In 2000 she went on to earn her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Jones is passionate about teaching patients how they can achieve optimum health by identifying and treating each patient’s unique obstacles to health. She enjoys being able to offer effective alternatives for chronic and acute conditions from a wide variety of treatments to fit each individual patient, from dietary changes, nutritional supplements to pharmaceutical medications. She has always had a particular interest in managing hormone conditions such as menopause, thyroid and adrenal disorders, and menstrual irregularities. Primary care, endocrinology and gastroenterology form the cornerstones of her practice.
